Biography
Maleah Garalde is the founder of Elite Professional Handling LLC. Professionally handling and caring for AKC show dogs in the Conformation ring since 2010. Maleah has also been instructing Conformation Handling class at Smarty Paws Canine Coaching in Las Vegas, Nevada since 2015.
Born and raised in San Diego, California her love for animals began as a child with her first dog, a Boxer named Roxy. Fond of the breeds silliness and guarding characteristics Roxy had opened her heart to what would be three more Boxers she owned as a young adult.
In 2010, Maleah acquired her first show dog – a Rottweiler named Winston; and in 2012 she acquired her second show dog, another Rottweiler named Dax, these two boys started her journey into the realm of dog sports. Their calm, self-assured confidence, and loving companionship all while being a superb guard dog truly amazed her. The Rottweiler became her heart breed.
Maleah credits her handling and grooming skills to some of the great handlers, breeders and groomers she has had the privileges to be mentored by: Loren R. Chiever of Holly House Rottweilers & Staffordshire Bull Terriers (California), Dick Schaefer (California), Mari-Lynn Davisson (Arizona), Sue Cates of Kai-Dane Great Danes (Hawaii & Las Vegas), Sherree Bell of North Star’s Bernese Mountain Dog (California & Las Vegas), and Dorian Branham – founder of Dorian’s Cutting Edge (Las Vegas, Nevada). In 2013, Dorian encouraged Maleah to enter her first grooming contest held annually at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center known as the ‘Super Zoo’. She won first place entry level grooming a miniature Schnauzer.
Maleah is an active AKC S.A.F.E. Certified Groomer and Take the Lead member. She continues to show in the Conformation ring, and in 2018 she passed her requirements to become a Junior Showmanship Judge. She enjoys socializing and training her Rottweilers in Obedience, Rally, Agility, Barn hunt and has put CGC and CGCU titles on her dogs. Maleah is married with two young children and their family dog, a Rottweiler named Havana; She also co-owns to Bernese Mountain show dogs.
